I like getting to know people and figuring out what matters to them. Sometimes that happens in an interview. Sometimes it means spending a few days on a farm or following someone around a golf course. These are a few films that came out of that.
01 / Seasons Yield Farm
The Bread Barn
A story I found close to home.
We’d been buying bread from this family for a while, and I wanted to know more about their life on the farm. I stayed there for three days, filming the baking and time with their family. I kept notes on things I wanted to ask, then came back to film the interviews.
My roleI came up with the project, filmed it, and conducted the interviews. An editing partner cut the film, with direction and feedback from me.
How I found the story
I stayed on the property while the family worked through a roughly 48-hour baking cycle. I kept notes on conversations, observations, and questions, then returned for a separate interview day.
They were nervous about the interviews. Spending time together first helped me make it feel more like a conversation. This is still one of the films I’m most proud of.
02 / Chasing Scratch
Desert Slashers
The people behind the round.
I’d listened to Chasing Scratch for years. I knew how Mike tells a story, and I wanted the film to sound like them. I filmed the golf and conversations, then worked with Mike on how to use the voiceovers and podcast clips in the edit.
My roleI filmed and edited the video. Mike and I worked together on the story, pacing, and voice.

Wedding filmmaking
A story that reaches beyond the day.
We wanted our wedding films to tell you something about the couple. I listened through vows, letters, and toasts for the pieces that connected, then built the edit around those words and what we’d filmed throughout the day.

Creative at Heart
Find the reason people came together.
Ashley and I taught at Creative at Heart and made the recap films. For this one, the founder’s words about community gave us the story. We used them alongside the footage we’d captured of the speakers and attendees.
