Senior YouTube producer.
Hands-on filmmaker.

I help creators and media teams turn strong ideas into YouTube content that builds audiences and grows businesses.

I combine a deep understanding of what works on YouTube with 15 years of experience in filmmaking, photography, and design. I can help shape the direction of a channel and handle the hands-on work needed to bring that vision to life.

What I bring to your channel

YouTube strategy & production.

01

Strategy & Planning

I work backward from the click. On YouTube, packaging isn’t an afterthought. It’s the entire game. If people don’t click, they won’t watch. That’s why every project I produce starts with the title, the thumbnail, and the opening hook before a camera ever turns on. We map out the visual promise first, then build the video to deliver on it. It’s the only reliable way to find success on the platform.

  • Concept Design: Nailing down the title and thumbnail hooks during pre-production, not post-production.
  • The Retention Bridge: Designing the first 30 seconds of the video to instantly validate the thumbnail so viewers stay locked in.
  • Audience Empathy: Studying search trends, viewer psychology, and real-time CTR metrics to understand what makes people stop scrolling.

Production & Execution

I build production systems that fit the format. Whether it’s directing a fast-moving, multi-camera shoot on a golf course with a 10-person crew, or setting up a clean, self-operable remote studio for a host, my goal is always the same: make the technical side invisible so the talent can just focus on performing. I am highly resourceful on set and love the challenge of turning a small, unconditioned room into a premium visual space on a tight deadline.

  • Crew Leadership: Directing multi-cam sets, managing crew logistics, and coordinating with live audio engineers.
  • Agile Studio Builds: Maximizing small or unconventional spaces with highly efficient, rapid-deployment lighting and camera packages.
  • Remote Architecture: Setting up professional mirrorless, lighting, and audio pipelines for remote talent using platforms like Riverside.

Editing & Pacing

Post-production is a battle against the viewer's attention span. A great video isn't just about clean cuts; it’s about rhythm, momentum, and protecting that retention graph. I specialize in crafting cinematic openings that instantly pay off the promise of the thumbnail, and then using intentional "pattern interrupts" to keep long-form viewers locked in for 30+ minutes. I take pride in keeping a meticulously organized timeline because a clean edit is a fast edit.

  • Retention Pacing: Engineering tight, high-momentum edits tailored specifically to keep digital audiences watching.
  • Audio & Soundscapes: Layering deep, multi-track audio nesting, custom sound design, and clean dialogue mastering.
  • Workflow Organization: Maintaining pristine, color-coded Premiere Pro project files optimized for rapid revision loops.

Optimization & Insights

A video doesn't stop when it's uploaded. The first 24 hours of a launch are a live data laboratory. I don't just export a file and walk away—I continuously monitor YouTube Studio metrics, study where viewers are dropping off in the retention charts, and read the comment sentiment loop. If a video is underperforming, I pivot. If a thumbnail isn't hitting our target CTR, we change it. True success comes from treating every upload as a lesson for the next one.

  • Metrics Auditing: Deep-dive tracking of Impressions, Click-Through Rates (CTR), and Average View Duration (AVD).
  • Real-Time Pivoting: Executing rapid thumbnail or title updates based on live algorithmic performance curves.
  • Community Integration: Analyzing viewer feedback loops and comment data to spark new franchise concepts and cultivate audience loyalty.

Sean Walsh · Complete YouTube golf edit

Complete edit, cinematic opening, tracers, color grading & audio mixing.

My role & inside the edit

Sean’s team sent me the footage for this 36-hole video. I handled the complete edit and finishing, integrating the graphics they supplied and matching the channel’s established style.

The Bread Barn · Seasons Yield Farm

Concept, directing, cinematography, interviews & editorial direction.

My role & behind the film

I spent three days at Seasons Yield Farm filming the baking, family life, and community gathering, then returned for interviews. The film brings together the patient observation and cinematic storytelling I love most.

An external post-production partner handled the edit under my story direction and review.

My role & behind the film

Across two evenings, I filmed interviews and captured the tutoring program as it happened. I turned a small classroom into an interview space, then built the story from the conversations and the moments we captured.

Tyler Herrinton

About me

About Tyler.

When I pick up a new hobby or interest, I want to learn everything I can about it. That curiosity took me from photographing weddings in college to building an international photography and filmmaking business with my wife, Ashley. It also turned my passion for YouTube into a career producing videos for some of its biggest creators.

I’m always watching, studying, and paying attention to what’s happening in the world of YouTube. I want to understand what’s changing, what’s connecting with audiences, and how that should shape what we make next. Whether I’m learning a new niche or joining an established team, I put in the work to understand it and contribute.

I combine my passion for YouTube with a background in filmmaking and storytelling. I can help figure out what we should make and why, then bring the technical skills to make it happen.

I live in Richmond, Virginia with Ashley and our four young kids. Outside work and family life, I’m usually following Formula 1 or trying to find time for a round of golf.
